Shearwater House

Shearwater is an attractive, Grade-II Listed property, forming part of what is arguably the finest terrace of stone-built houses on the islands. Ideally situated, overlooking Hugh Town’s little central park and within a short walk of the harbour and high street, it is also only a few yards to Porthcressa beach.

Downstairs comprises a large lounge, dining room, kitchen / day room opening up to a spacious private courtyard. The spacious kitchen is newly fitted, incorporating breakfast bar seating and separate dining table. There is a range cooker, with twin ovens, twin grills and six hobs. Other appliances include microwave oven, large fridge and separate freezer, washing machine and dishwasher.

To the rear of the property is a sunny courtyard garden, with a rear access leading out onto Porthcressa Beach, just a few yards away.

Shearwater offers fully ensuite accommodation for up to 12 guests in five bedrooms. On the first floor, there is a standard double bedroom, two zip'n'link bedrooms (which can be arranged as super-king or twin beds), and a large family bedroom (with double bed and two single pull out beds). The fifth bedroom is located in the attic, and has a double bed and shower over the bath. Please note this room has limited head space, due to being in the attic. All bedrooms have TVs and independently controlled electric radiators. Bathrooms are finished to the same style throughout, with fully-tiled walls, quality sanitary fittings, high-pressure thermostatic showers, chrome heated towel rails and attractive lighting.

All linen, towels and electricity is included in the weekly rental price, beach towels can be hired locally on request.

Travel cots, highchairs and stairgates are all available to hire. There is of course free Wi-Fi and free view TV.
